Special exhibition / New acquisitions
- Meteorites and ImpactitesThe special exhibition presents many different meteorite types including the German meteorites Benthullen and Kiel as well as the meteorite fall of Braunschweig 2013. Furthermore impactites, tektites and pseudometeorites are on display.
- Pegmatite minerals from the Strzegom (Striegau) granite, Lower Silesia, PolandShown are exquisite mineral specimens of the Alwin Martens collection, Hamburg, acquired by the Mineralogical Museum Hamburg in 1973.
- New acquisitionsAll new acquisitions are displayed in certain showcases on the upper level of the gallery. In 2010 and 2011 Dr. Hans Kautsky, Hamburg, donated 600 specimen of his collection to our Mineralogical Museum. Currently we are showing a selection of the donated specimen.
